Now that school is starting back, I seem to be going on an almost weekly basis to Starbucks with some of my girls at Southside. Usually it's one on one and we talk about school and any life issues they are having. However, I always try to shift the topic to be more spiritual - what is God teaching them through the experiences. Sometimes, often times, its difficult to do this. I feel that mentoring is more than just meeting and talking. There needs to be a deeper level.

Suggestions? What are ways you have bridged the gap and transitioned from a student talking about life, to teaching the student Biblical truths?
